LWBGC: ep 2 "I Run LA!"

Something I've learned since the last BGC epi I watched was that they aren't allowed to fight. "There's a no-violence rule," as Natalie puts it later on in this episode. That's hilarious for several reasons but let's dive in or whatever~

We start this episode with Natalie, Kendra, and Flo waiting to meet Natalie's friend Marcus at a restaurant. Natalie claimed he was super famous but I had to google him bc his face wasn't immediately familiar to me. He's been in like an episode of Blackish and is on that new Proud Family they have out so ehhhh yeah I guess he's a somewhat-known and working actor is more what she meant to say. This is relevant because ALL of the girls in this house are dying from a lack of sexual attention from men so Kendra is already mentally preparing to take him down the next time she sees him.

But back to the girls (except Flo) dying from a lack of sexual attention from men. This is so much the case that they're letting it alter the way they're interacting with the other girls in the house. Everyone is hostile and, to quote a waitress at Texas Roadhouse referring to another waitress who spat at a customer, "pop-offy". They try to remedy their immense horniness by going to the strip club to get rubbed on by ripped gay men but it ultimately does nothing to quench that which needed quenching. Thirsty, they remained.

Kate says she hasn't been around so much estrogen since preschool and I thought it was such a gross comment to make but then Amber goes on to use the term "cooter" for the 2nd time so far this season and she manages to be super wlwphobic every time she does so that's even grosser than Kate's estrogen overload.

They get back to the house and everyone is enjoying themselves and laughing and joking and playing around while Annie and Kate are being boring white girls and commenting about how loud everyone else is while saying shit like that Flo "sounds like a man" and how "[they're] the 2 stablest people here". 2 horsiest bitches in the stable is what I think they meant.

Natalie and Annie go to get food for everyone and Flo asks them to stop for cigarettes for her. They don't do it and Flo gets upset because the reason they don't stop is that there weren't any gas stations on the right (literal, directional right) side of the road. This is important because it's the first time we see Annie deploy her Violent White Woman Tears (VWWTs). NOT ONLY is it the first time they're used, she deployed them SUCCESSFULLY. She shuts everyone and the entire situation down by claiming how hurt she is about people being inconsiderate of the feelings for others even though all of this was brought about from her initial inconsideration of Flo. It's insane and amazing how the VWWTs can take full control of a situation--watch it for it next time you see a white woman about to use her emotions to get the upper hand . It's National Geographic/Discovery Channel documentary type stuff. She's successfully manipulated everyone and they still all call her the weakest girl in the house. Truly, it's wild how white women are capable of sliding under radars like this...

Later On The Next Day

Natalie calls her boyfriend to tell him he's a bad boyfriend and how much more she realizes it now. After her verbal barrage he calmly tells her "I'm gonna get off the phone right now so you don't waste your breath," giving her the fuel she needs to be in a bad mood later on when the BGs go out to a bar that she personally didn't pick/doesn't know.

The girls all go out and are having a great time! Cheap drinks and men, all of what they wanted! The scene actually looks like a great time, everyone is dancing and having drinks and conversation. Everyone except Natalie who suddenly is so gripped by her sadness that she can no longer contain herself and begins shouting about how sad she is. She wants to go so now everyone has to go and they're pretty upset about it and see right through her behavior. Kendra had already been collected and walked to the limo bc she was throwing up in the bathroom so Natalie was already seated with her crocodile tears in there.

"I'M SAD, I'M SAD, I'M SOOOO SAD" --Natalie, ruining everyone's night

Kendra is annoyed because she's already wasted in addition to the fact that she was trying to take someone down/get taken down so she's yelling in Natalie's face about how everyone knows she's doing this just to get her way. Which is so true, there's no need for Natalie to be crying up in that bar over a Sesame Street character that isn't that great of a boyfriend to her. Anyway, Natalie tries to move seats but as she's walking away Kendra triggers her by yelling "She's from LA!" so Natalie hits her in the face. Kendra was the real weak one for not swinging back. As I recall, she sat back and started crying.

At this point everyone is screaming and trying to keep them separated but Flo has started seeing red and is grabbing Natalie by the crescent moon (her head) and is yelling at her to stop before she fucks her up. HOOOOOO I loved that part. I love Flo so much she's truly everything I love about a person. She's caring and protective and always laughing and loud with how she feels! Obviously Natalie isn't trying to get fucked up so she tries calming Flo down but the damage has been done.

They get back to the house and Natalie runs to the phone to call her brother and actual comedy ensues. She says "Why would you put your hands on the baddest bitch in--the house?" She wasn't pushed first lol. There's the slightest pause in her voice that tells me she wants to say "in LA" instead of "the house" but she probably remembered that the La Brea Tar Pits are nearby so i'm glad she held her tongue. She carries on with her BS--"I run LA! I run LA!" she performs into the phone as her bruv asks "Why do you keep saying that? YOU SOUND LIKE YOU'RE OUT OF CONTROL," and I wish the editing team for this episode let us see what she said because I'm genuinely itching to know. Her kin bodies her via the telephone while on television and we don't get to hear how she rebuts? Insanity on behalf of Oxygen.

Everyone knows the No Violence rule so everyone assumes Natalie is leaving now because she broke that rule but episode 1 taught me I still see Natalie in the house after this..... Hmm.

Annie is celebrating way too early and running around the house and jumping on beds talking about "I'm just glad the person who picked on me is gone," but I don't believe you can be picked on as an adult. Especially in the Bad Girls House? Honestly, Annie is weird for several reasons but I think it's the fatphobia that puts it over the top for me. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure i've only heard fatphobic comments from Amber and Annie and they're both pretty unremarkable.

Anyway, we still see ol' Waning Crescent hanging about the house at the end of the episode so I'm pretty sure she isn't going anywhere.

Guess I'll find out next week!

Until then, I hope you have a Happy New Year ✨
